Better drainage and airflow for roots

Horticultural perlite (3 to 6 mm) is a lightweight volcanic mineral that improves the drainage and aeration of any growing mix, giving roots the oxygen they need to grow strong and healthy. Stirred into soil or coco, it opens up the medium so water moves freely and roots can breathe.

Despite its airy structure, perlite holds up to four times its weight in water, buffering against dry-out while keeping airflow high. That makes it ideal for rooting cuttings, raising seedlings and lightening heavy mixes. Supplied as a generous 125 L bag and stocked locally in Windhoek, Namibia for fast delivery.

Key Features

  • Improves Drainage: Opens up soil and coco mixes so excess water drains away instead of pooling around the roots.
  • Boosts Aeration: Creates air pockets that raise oxygen availability for stronger, faster root growth.
  • Holds Moisture: Retains up to four times its weight in water, easing the risk of dry-out between waterings.
  • Ideal for Propagation: A proven medium for rooting cuttings and starting seedlings.
  • Generous 125 L Bag: Enough to amend a large volume of mix or fill plenty of pots and trays.
